Crash on M2 near Faversham causing delays

Motorists suffered long delays after a three car pile-up along the M2.

All traffic was being held along the coastbound carriageway between junction 5 for Sittingbourne and junction 6 for Faversham.

Cars are at a standstill along the M2

Firefighters, paramedics, and police were called to the scene and one person has been taken to a local hospital.

It happened at around 5.35pm and some drivers said they were stationary for an hour.

Two broken down vehicles between junction 5 and junction 6 also caused further delays on the coastbound carriageway with traffic affected until at least 8.15pm.

Some bus services were also affected until 9.45pm.

There was also been a multi-vehicle accident coastbound between J1 for Strood and J2 for Rochester.
