Rush hour crash causes delays on Thanet Way at Dargate

There are tailbacks on the Thanet Way this morning after a car hit the crash barrier and came to a halt in the outside lane.

It happened on the coastbound carriageway near Dargate shortly before 8am and emergency services are at the scene.

A woman driving the vehicle, a Citroen Saxo is not thought to have been hurt.

Police slow down traffic on the Thanet Way following crash

Police are at the scene and the road has been reduced to a single lane traffic flow past the damaged car.

There are also delays on the A2 at Faversham after a drain cover in the road is thought to have been forced out by heavy rain water.

Police were mashalling traffic until traffic lights were installed at the location between Four Oak Road and Faversham Road.
