THE number eight is proving lucky for 18-year-old Tracie-Anne Harlow. As the eighth contestant, Tracie-Anne was chosen as Faversham's Millennium carnival queen. Now, wearing the same number, she has been crowned Miss Kent for the Jubilee year.

Tracie-Anne, a former pupil at The Abbey School, Faversham, was chosen at the Miss Kent 2002 competition in Dover. She said: "There were 14 contestants from across Kent taking part and once again I was number eight. It never was my lucky number, but it is now!

"To be Miss Faversham in Millennium year and now to be Miss Kent in Jubilee year is absolutely amazing and I am really looking forward to it."

During her year as Miss Faversham, Tracie-Anne, who works at WH Smith in Canterbury, raised £2,000 for her two chosen charities, Faversham Blind Association and the Sittingbourne-based children's charity Demelza House.
