Armed officers storm Albert Road, Folkestone

Armed officers, a helicopter and a police dog were called to a residential street in Folkestone.

Several police cars pulled up along Albert Road and residents reported hearing the police helicopter circling for around an hour.

Kent Police was called at 5pm to an allegation that a person who may have been carrying a weapon entered an address on the street.

Officers attended, assisted by a firearms unit and carried out a search of the property.

A police dog could be heard barking while officers carried out investigations.

No weapons were found and no arrests were made but enquiries are ongoing.
