Arrest after large bag of cannabis found during police stop check in Wear Bay Road, Folkestone

Around half a kilo of cannabis, worth thousands of pounds on the streets, has been seized after a van was pulled over by police.

At around midday on Thursday, officers from the Community Policing Team stopped the driver of a white van in Wear Bay Road, Folkestone.

After a search of the vehicle, a large bag of cannabis bud was discovered, carrying an estimated street value of between £5,000 and £6,000.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Rhodes Minnis, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

Police also searched a property in Folkestone where they found more cannabis along with a large quantity of cash.

The man has been released pending further investigation.
