A man from Hawkinge has been charged with arson after police were called to cash machines believed to have been set alight.

Richard Franks of Millfield Close, Hawkinge, was charged with three counts of arson last week (Wednesday May 30), relating to the incidents in Sandgate Road on Monday, May 21.

The 55-year-old was also charged with threats to commit criminal damage following a further incident in Folkestone on Friday, May 25.

Mr Franks has been remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday June 28.
