Fire started after cat knocked over candle in Folkestone bedroom

Firefighters were called to a bedroom fire in Folkestone which started after a cat knocked over a candle.

Crews were called just after 5pm today to the incident in Darby Road, and were on the scene for just over an hour.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has since urged people to be extra vigilant when using candles over the winter months.

Two fire engines attended the blaze.
