A drug dealer has been jailed after being found with cocaine when police stopped a Range Rover on The Leas.

Tomas Molnar, of Broadmead Road in Folkestone, was found to be in possession of around £350-worth of the class A drug and he was arrested at the scene.

A search of his home then revealed more than £3,000 in cash, around £3,000-worth of cocaine, a knuckle duster, nunchucks and a mobile phone which had been used to arrange drug deals.

The 20-year-old's apprehension stemmed from activities being carried out by Kent Police's county lines and gangs team, who were investigating reports of dealing in the Tram Road area of the town.

After witnessing suspicious activity in a car park on January 14, officers followed and stopped the Range Rover in which Molnar was travelling along The Leas.

He was charged with and later admitted possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of weapons and possession of criminal property, relating to the cash.

Appearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, he was jailed for a total of two years and three months.

"Those who get involved in drug dealing will be tracked down and sent to jail..."

Investigating officer PC Nicholas Webb said: "The alertness of our officers on the day of this arrest has led to the seizure of a large amount of class A drugs, weapons and criminal cash.

"We will continue to work every day in Kent’s towns to detect and arrest those who bring in drugs that spread misery in the community.

"I hope this sentencing sends out a message that those who get involved in drug dealing will be tracked down and sent to jail."
