A spokesman for Eurotunnel had said earlier today: "A body was found on a coach travelling to France, by the authorities at the border controls in Folkestone.

"We have taken care of the remaining passengers from the coach until another bus can come and pick them up to continue their journey."

An eyewitness, a man touring Europe, photographed the scene.

The South American, who did not want to be named, said that the coach had come from Victoria Station in London.

He said: "After the controls to enter France police started to arrive, ambulances and firemen.

"We don’t know if the body was there or exactly what happened."

He said that passengers were told to leave the bus, take all their belongings and wait for another.
