Emergency services rushed to a supermarket amid concerns for a distressed man.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene in Bouverie Place in Folkestone this morning.

The front of Asda in Bouverie Place has been cordoned off

The front of the shop was cordoned off from around 10.30am, as was the neighbouring Boots store.

One eyewitness said: "The front of the shop is closed off because of a man on the building opposite.

"Let's pray for them in their hour of need."

Thankfully, police officers were able to bring the man to safety, and he is now in the care of healthcare professionals.

The cordon was lifted at around 12.45pm this afternoon and all of the stores have reopened.
