Folkestonians are being invited to give their views on how to make the town better.

A workshop being held today in town will see ideas pitched from the community.

Shepway District Council, which is running the session, has received funding to develop a five-year community led local development programme.

It is aiming to bring together the "benefits of Folkestone's economic regeneration" to residents in the town's central, harbour and east wards, the council said.

The programme would come into effect from April 2017.

Folkestone is only the third town in the south east to be awarded this funding, along with Hastings and Thurrock.

The council is asking for residents to come along and share their views on projects and initiatives.

Today's workshop will be held at Sunflower House, 45 Foord Road, Folkestone, CT19 5AE between 10am and 12pm.

Or email the council with ideas to economy@shepway.gov.uk
