Inquest opens on man netted by fisherman

AN inquest has been opened on the man whose body was found tangled in nets in the sea off Folkestone.

Elija Mundondo, 29, was born in Zimbabwe and lived at Pavilion Court, Folkestone.

Coroner Rachel Redman was told that a fisherman found the body when he went to check his nets outside Folkestone Harbour on June 14.

The body was identified by his brother, Samson Mundondo, and a postmortem revealed the cause of death to be immersion.

The inquest was adjourned.
