The A20 was blocked after a lorry jackknifed near Folkestone.

The incident between Sellindge and Lympne caused heavy traffic to build up in the area.

Jackknifing refers to an accident where a lorry cab and trailer 'fold in' on themselves, with the cab facing a different direction to the trailer.

The incident added to an already chaotic morning on the A20, which is experiencing delays due to the Dover TAP operation being in force.

A tweet from Stagecoach said that the accident is forcing three services to divert.

It read: "Due to a jack knifed lorry blocking the A20 we are currently unable to serve Lympne in either direction for the number 10, 10A or 16A.

"We are diverting these services via Swann Lane and then Stone Street. We apologise for the inconvenience to your journey plans".

It is not believed that anyone was injured during the incident, and the road has now reopened after the truck was cleared.
