IN COURT: Ollie Kennedy

A Kent lottery winner has appeared in court charged with assault on a 17-year-old girl. Ollie Kennedy, 19, won more than £700,000 on the lottery with his then girlfriend. He has been charged with two counts of common assault.

Kennedy, of Dallas Brett Crescent, Folkestone, denied both charges when he appeared before magistrates in Folkestone on Monday. The case was adjourned until May 12.

The assault is alleged to have happened early on Saturday, March 8.

Kennedy and his girlfriend at the time, Kelly Lucas, 18, the mother of his one-year-old child, won £716,766 on the national lottery last September.

They won a share of a £3.5 million jackpot after picking their numbers from family birthdays. They planned to use their winnings to buy a home together, have driving lessons and buy a car each.
