A 36-year-old man has admitted burgling the Folkestone office of Kent MP Damian Collins.

Michael Atkinson, of no fixed address, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court to change his pleas to guilty to two charges.

They relate to burglary with intent to steal at Mr Collins' office and stealing a laptop, a purse, £1,200 in cash, hair straighteners, a cheque book and keys from the Vanity Flair spa above it in West Cliff Gardens in Folkestone between August 7 and 8 last year.
