Man arrested on suspicion of assault after 'disturbance' in Tontine Street, Folkestone

A 31-year-old man remains in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman.

Police were called just before midnight on Bank Holiday Monday to Tontine Street in Folkestone to reports of a "disturbance."

A police spokesman said: "It was reported that a woman had been assaulted by a man.

"Officers attended and arrested a 31-year-old man from Folkestone on suspicion of assault.

"He remains in custody and inquiries into the incident are ongoing."
