Folkestone man charged after police officer covered with 'noxious liquid'

A man has been charged after reportedly throwing an unknown liquid over a police officer in Folkestone.

The alleged assault occurred at around 5.30pm on Friday while officers were attending a report of a disturbance in Black Bull Road.

While in the premises, a local man reportedly threw a noxious liquid towards one of the officers.

The officer received medical attention from the ambulance service at the scene.

It is understood that the liquid caused irritation to her skin, but no permanent damage.

Lee Mills, of Black Bull Road, Folkestone, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 51-year-old is due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court today.
