Man injured while fighting off armed burglar in Folkestone

A man has been injured after confronting a knife-wielding burglar in his home.

The victim, a man in his 40s, left his flat in Folkestone after hearing his doorbell ring, and was in the building’s communal area when he heard a noise in his flat.

When he came back, he then found a man who reportedly had a knife.

The victim challenged the suspect, and was able to remove him from the property in Harbour Way, but suffered an injury to his arm.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred between 12.05am and 12.15am on Tuesday, July 30.

They are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is described as a white man, with a ginger beard, who was wearing a blue hooded top.

He is reported to have left with a second man, described as white with shaven grey hair.

He wore a grey t-shirt and shorts and is believed to be between 30 and 40 years old.
