Cyclists will once again be able to bare it all as an annual naked bike ride returns.

The Folkestone World Naked Bike Ride will take place once again on July 31, following a year off due to Covid.

Folkestone's World Naked Bike Ride is widely regarded in the community, attracting cyclists from across the UK

The popular event will run from 1pm to 6pm, kicking off at The Green in the Shearway Business Park.

It will end with a skinny dipping session at the lower Leas, which will be accompanied by live music and an ice cream van.

Participants are invited to "ride as bare as you dare" during the ride, which is intended to highlight fossil fuel dependency.

With the stated goals of curbing car use and making UK cycling safer, the naked bike ride has already attracted interest from across the country.

In a Facebook post, the organisers encouraged people to "come and feel some full freedom after the grim lockdowns in a great carnival atmosphere with many good causes."

Along the route, collections will be held in aid of Bike 4 Cancer.

The following day, an event also being held by the organisers will see a clifftop hike and beach barbecue as well as a swim and litter pick.

Everyone is invited to the July 31 bike ride, with rest points available to anyone who feel they can't go the full distance.
