Police called to Folkestone over concerns for man near railway tracks in Horn Street

A man was spotted spotted trespassing on a railway bridge in the early hours of the morning, prompting emergency services to scramble to the scene.

Police were called to the line close to Horn Street, Folkestone, just before 1.15am.

Ambulance crews were also spotted in the area by eyewitnesses.

A Network Rail spokesman confirmed the man was brought to safety.

He said: "There was an incident overnight with a male trespassing on the rail bridge at Horn Street.

"Police attended and were on-site from around 3am to 6.30am.

"The male was taken into their care.

"The incident did not have an impact on the railway as no trains were running at the time."

An ambulance and three police cars were dealing with the incident.
