A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was stabbed in the neck.

The 19-year-old victim was seriously injured in the knife attack in Claremont Road, Folkestone.

It happened near the junction with Cheriton Road between 10.30pm and 10.54pm on Friday, June 9, but details have only just been released.

The suspect, from Hythe, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until this Friday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

PC Bethany Gumley, the investigating officer, said: "It was a busy evening as the fun fair was in town.

"We have already spoken to a number of people who were present, but are appealing for anyone else who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident and have not already spoken to us to get in touch.

"We are also appealing for anyone who has any information about the incident to contact us."
