Three streets in Folkestone were among a number of addresses raided by police targeting drug gangs operating across Kent.

Fifteen people were arrested and a significant haul of Class A drugs was seized as police carried out a series of raids on Monday.

Warrants were executed at 11 addresses in Ashford, Folkestone, Gravesend, Margate and Sheppey based on intelligence gathered about drug supply networks across the county.

Police say known gang members travelling from London into the county are suspected of being involved in criminality.

Officers seized quantities of Class A drugs, believed to be heroin, cocaine and cannabis, as well as a significant haul of cash.

Supt Andrea Bishop of Kent Police, who co-ordinated the raids, said: “Our priority is to cut crime, disrupt and arrest known or suspected gang members who are travelling into the county or are established in Kent and are intent on committing a broad range of criminality.

“Many of these groups are organised and their activity can damage individuals, communities and businesses.

“Kent Police, together with our colleagues from other forces, will continue to take a zero tolerance approach to drug dealing and gang-related crime that has an impact on our streets.”

Addresses where warrants were executed included Barn Platt, Ashford and New Street, Wood Avenue and Bradstone Road - all in Folkestone.
