Power cable felled in lorry crash on A260 Selsted near Hawkinge

A Power cable tumbled to the ground after a lorry hit a supporting pole.

Police were called to the incident on the A260 Canterbury Road at Selsted at 9.23am today.

Police were at the scene of the crash.

The road was re-opened two hours later, at 11.35am after the cables were made safe.

UK Power Networks said that the power line had supplied just one customer and engineers restored their electricity was by 12.52pm.

Stagecoach tweeted warnings of resulting disruption to its No16 bus service, with the route having to be diverted.
