Car fire in St John’s Church Road in Folkestone

Firefighters are at the scene of a car fire in St John’s Church Road in Folkestone.

The incident is reported to have begun at about 3.50pm.

The blazing vehicle which has produced high amount of smoke has been described as a black Audi or BMW owned by a man in his forties, who was in attendance.

An eye witness and neighbour told Kent Online: “I went up to see what all the fuss was about and saw a black car was on fire. It was smoking from its front bonnet.

“You could really smell the petrol and the smoke was like a thick fog.

“The whole of the street was out watching.

“You should have seen the amount of smoke. I had to say to a couple of parents that I thought they should walk their children the other way.”
