Staff at Sainsbury's in Folkestone threatened by thief stealing ink cartridges

A supermarket worker was threatened after attempting to stop a thief fleeing with a basket-full of stolen goods.

Police were called to Sainsbury's in Folkestone at 1pm yesterday following reports a man had stolen a quantity of ink cartridges.

Sainsbury's in Bouverie Road West, Folkestone

During the incident the suspect is reported to have made threats to a store worker who tried to stop him before he ran from the scene.

Officers have been speaking to witnesses at the Bouverie Road West store and enquiries to locate the suspect are ongoing.

A Sainsbury's spokesman said: "We are supporting the police with their enquiries."
