Canterbury and Ramsgate teens charged after Folkestone stabbing

Two teenagers have been charged with attempted murder after a double stabbing near a shopping centre.

The teens will appear in court after two other young men were stabbed in a car park in Middelburg Square, Folkestone.

Police were called at around 8pm on Tuesday May 17 to reports of a disturbance in the car park, near Bouverie Place Shopping Centre.

Two teenage boys were treated at the scene for injuries consistent with stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment.

A total of four boys, three aged 15 and one 17, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The 17-year-old boy, from Canterbury one 15-year-old, from Ramsgate, were each charged with one count of attempted murder on Wednesday.

The pair, who can’t be named due to their ages, appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court the following day where they were remanded in custody.

They are next due to appear at Margate Youth Court on Monday May 30.

A 15-year old boy from Ramsgate, arrested shortly after the assault, and a 15-year old boy from Folkestone, arrested on Thursday May 19, both remain on bail pending further enquiries.
