Folkestone: Police appeal after man left needing 15 stitches following assault in Rendezvous Street

A victim of an unprovoked assault in Folkestone needed 15 stitches to repair a head wound.

The man, who is in his 40s, was attacked in Rendezvous Street just before midnight last night.

A witness appeal has now been launched by police who say the area was heavily populated at the time.

Detective Constable Beth Gumley said: "This appears to be a totally unprovoked assault which left the victim needing 15 stitches to the back of his head.

"We believe there were a lot of people in the area at the time, and we are appealing for anyone who saw the assault – or events leading up to it - to contact us."
