The War and Peace Revival show at Folkestone racecourse closed on Sunday night, with the organisers describing it as a major success.

Thousands of visitors attended the event, one of the biggest military shows of its kind, over the five days it was open.

The event at the Westenhanger site saw a massive range of military vehicles on display and a series of battle re-enactments were among the attractions on offer.

The War and Peace Revival was commemorating several anniversaries that fall in 2014. On Saturday and Sunday, Reservists from the 3rd Battalion Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment (The Tigers) performed tactical demonstrations using modern weapon systems in a fictional scenario as the racecourse comes "under attack".

And on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, vehicles from the showground went out on convoy through the streets of Hythe and Seabrook.
