Folkestone: Woman attacked in cash machine assault

A woman was hit around the head and robbed as she took out money from a cash machine.

Police are hunting two people following the assault in Folkestone town centre.

The victim, in her 30s, was using the ATM in Guildhall Street when she was targeted by a woman and a man.

The incident reportedly took place between 11pm and midnight on Wednesday, March 1.

She reported being approached by a woman who hit her in the head before knocking her to the ground and stealing cash.

She suffered injuries to her face and knee.

Officers are now hoping to speak to anyone who was in the area and saw something in the lead up to the attack.

The suspect is described as a white woman, about 5ft 5ins, of slim build with brown hair wearing shorts with tights and a puffer jacket.

The man with her was described as white, taller than the woman of medium building with black hair.
