Woman assaulted in attempted morning robbery in Sandgate Road, Folkestone

A woman in her 50s was left with facial injuries after reportedly being assaulted in an early morning attempted robbery.

The incident is said to have taken place between 6am and 6.40am on Monday in Folkestone.

The victim was getting something from the boot of her car, which was parked near a church on Sandgate Road, when a man tried to grab her car keys before assaulting her.

Fortunately, a good Samaritan intervened and the suspect ran away.

Officers investigating the case would like to hear from any witnesses, in particular the man who helped the victim at the scene.
