Youth 'sold cannabis to schoolchildren'

A YOUTH suspected of selling cannabis to schoolchildren in Folkestone has been cautioned for offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A warrant was carried out at an address in the the town following information that he had approached school children in the area to offer cannabis.

Officers found a cannabis plant and individual wraps of cannabis at the address. The youth was subsequently cautioned for producing cannabis and possession of a class c controlled drug.

A 42-year-old woman at the same address was also cautioned for possession of a class c controlled drug.

East Folkestone Neighbourhood Officer PC Sarah Leggett said: “Although the cannabis classification has been lowered from Class B to C, it is still illegal to buy, possess or grow the substance. Any person found with the drug on them can still be arrested and receive a criminal record.”
