Home comforts have been in short supply for Folkestone Invicta lately and manager Neil Cugley is relishing a return to the Fullicks Stadium this weekend.

Having played eight of their last nine games on the road, Folkestone host Kent rivals Herne Bay on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.

Cugley’s men have maintained their promotion push despite a rather nomadic existence over the last month. And now, with six scheduled home games between now and the end of November, they could really turn up the heat on the three sides above them.

Cugley said: "We’ve only had one of our last nine games at home and last year, that might have finished us off (financially). We might have had to offload a few players, but we’re better-run now.

"Now we’ve got a few home games coming up, which could get us going, and getting the money will help us as well.

"We’re now in the play-off places and there’s something about us which means I think we’ll stay in there.

"We’ve got a nice mix of youth and experience, we’re good at home and the pitch looks good, so hopefully we can carry that on."

Micheal Everitt serves a one-match suspension this weekend but Darren Smith is available to play and should take his place in midfield.
