Folkestone's Trevor Squire tries to wriggle free of a Faversham player

Folkestone Rugby Club's Academy side completed a convincing 21-0 victory against Faversham 1sts at a cold Burlington ground on Saturday.

Fielding first team injury returnees Will Massey, James Parry, Lee Fitchie and Trevor Squire, the home team battered the Faversham line but it wasn’t until the 18th minute that they managed to score via the boot of Moose Murray who kicked a penalty.

Unconverted tries followed from Luke Simpson and Tom Ash as Folkestone took a 13-point lead into the break.

Unforced errors then littered the second half as penalty after penalty went against the home side.

Despite Johnny Mapp being sin binned for a spear tackle, Folkestone comfortably coped with being down to 14 men and added to the scoreline with a Morton penalty.

Man-of-the-match Simpson then finished off the scoring with another unconverted try towards the end.

London 4 South East restarts this Saturday with Folkestone 1sts hitting the road to face Heathfield & Waldron.
