These are the men who fired Folkestone’s 1st XI back to the Kent League Premier Division.

Andy Bray’s team finished runners-up in Division 1 – 30 points clear of the chasing pack.

Their form since mid-June was fantastic, thanks largely to the influence of team manager Roy Downey.

Bray, the Folkestone captain, said: "Roy joined us a third of the way through the season and we had 10 positive results from the next 12 games.

"He helped the guys with their game management, he worked with the bowlers and he discussed game plans with the batters. He’s been so helpful to me."

Bray added: "It’s been a fantastic year for the club. We got promoted, our 3rds got promoted, we’ve established a 4th team and our 2nds finished fourth in their first season in Division 1.

"Normally, at this time of year, you’re glad to put the season to bed but we want to keep playing. We’re in a good place and I hope we can continue and build on it next season."

Full promotion coverage in the Folkestone & Hythe Express.
