Police drug raids in Gravesend and Dartford

Nineteen people are due to appear in court today on drugs charges following a series of dawn raids in Dartford and Gravesend.

The defendants were arrested when Kent Police officers swooped on 26 homes in north Kent and south east London.

Officers found five cannabis plants, a small amount of cannabis resin, and tablets thought to be amphetamine sulphate - or speed. They also seized a large quantity of mobile phones, cash and a stolen motorbike.

The men and women, most charged with supplying controlled drugs, will appear before magistrates in Medway via video link from North Kent Police station.
