A2 queues at Ebbsfleet due to multi-vehicle crash as broken down vehicle also causes delays at Dartford Crossing

A multi-vehicle crash blocked a major dual carriageway this evening and there are queues of several miles approaching the Dartford Tunnel.

Traffic had been building on the coastbound A2 after the incident involving several vehicles near Ebbsfleet.

It happened near the A2260 junction for Northfleet and Ebbsfleet.

Police said the incident was handled by National Highways officers and that the road has now been cleared.

Meanwhile, a broken down vehicle has closed two lanes on the M25 approaching the Dartford Tunnel.

The anti-clockwise carriageway from Junction 1A to Junction 31 at Lakeside on the Essex side is queuing.

Traffic is tailing back to just after Junction 3 for Swanley and the M20 junction.
