A car flipped on the A2 near Gravesend today causing long rush-hour tailbacks.

The vehicle was left on its roof in the middle of the London-bound carriageway at the A227 Wrotham Road junction.

It happened near Gravesend East Tollgate Services and stopped traffic and all three lanes at around 7.30am.

Earlier a truck carrying bread had crashed nearby and shed its load on the carriageway causing delays.
