Commuters faced tailbacks on the A2 this morning after an accident involving two vehicles.

All lanes have now been reopened but queuing traffic remains on the London-bound carriageway between Gravesend and Northfleet.

It is understood a woman was initially trapped in her car and fire crews were called to remove the roof but she was out by the time they arrived.

Fire crews said there were no serious injuries.
