An investigation has been launched after a woman suffered a head injury in an accident on a Christmas ride.

Visitors are invited to go down the giant slide in a doughnut-shaped rubber ring before coming to a stop at the end.

But when Ms Varney whooshed down the slide, she collided with the child at the bottom.

Footage of the accident shows the pair bumping heads at speed before the boy starts screaming.

The video has been posted on Facebook, and shared more than 7,000 times.

A Bluewater spokesman said: "Bluewater is aware of the incident which took place on the snow slide on Saturday.

"We can confirm that the event organiser has launched a full investigation and in the meantime has introduced additional safety protocols."
