The eighth demolition is due to take place at Tilbury Power Station, opposite Gravesend, tomorrow morning (Thursday).

The controlled explosion at 9am will simultaneously bring down two separate units. The steel and concrete structures are about 43m long by 14m wide and 27m high.

The explosion and collapse may be heard off site but any noise will be over very quickly.

The chimneys fall at Tilbury Power Station in September

The chimneys came down at the end of September.

The other main structures, such as the boiler house, are scheduled for explosive demolition in 2018. Demolition work at the site is due to be completed by the end of 2018.
