Appeal after PC is 'punched in face'

DETECTIVES in North Kent are appealing for witnesses after a police constable was assaulted in the street.

The PC was allegedly punched in the face as he arrested a 19-year old man for public order offences in King Street, Gravesend.

Police are particularly keen to speak to a man who assisted officers during the incident. He did not leave his details at the scene.

Det Con Andy Jobes, the officer investigating, said: “I would urge this member of the public, or indeed any others who witnessed the incident at about 6.15pm on Friday, April 21, to come forward."
