It was reported the officers were in an unmarked car near The Parade at about 3.30pm and jumped out to apprehend suspects.

A witness said three officers were in the vehicle parked on Wrotham Road when they ran towards the car park outside the parade of shops in the centre of the village.

A police spokesman confirmed two men were arrested.
