Greenhithe: Armed police called to reports of 'man with gun'

Armed officers have been scrambled to a residential street after witnesses reported seeing a man with a gun.

Officers were called to an address in Cobham Terrace, Greenhithe, just before noon.

A police helicopter is also understood to have been deployed in the area.

Kent Police spokesman Vicki Foster said: "Kent Police was called at 11.41am on Friday to a report of a distressed man inside a property in Cobham Terrace, Greenhithe.

"Officers attended along with Secamb and a man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution."

An imitation firearm was recovered from the scene.
