Arrest after man seen carrying knife in Gravesend town centre

Police arrested a man in Gravesend after reports of a man carrying a knife.

Officers stopped a man in Milton Road at 4.15pm on Wednesday, after a man was seen with a knife in the town centre.

Kent Police's Gravesham team tweeted that evening: "Male stopped and searched on Milton road by our Gravesend town centre team. A knife was found on the search, he has been arrested and is currently in custody for possession of offensive weapon."

It ha since been confirmed a 45-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested and he has been released pending further enquiries.
