Man arrested in connection with car and house fire at home in Beechwood Drive in Meopham

A man from Essex has been arrested following a house fire.

Emergency services were called to Beechwood Drive in Meopham to the blaze at around 4am on Saturday morning. Two cars were also alight.

There were no serious injuries.

Officers investigating the fire arrested the man in his 40s in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson. He remains in custody.

Detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and are carrying out inquiries.
