Punters enjoyed pulled pork and pulled pints at a village pub beer festival.

Customers at The Ship Inn, in Southfleet, could sample 12 real ales, four Devon ciders and tuck into some hearty barbecue food – cajun chicken, pulled pork and burgers.

For music lovers there were eight bands, playing blues, indie, soul, disco and songs from the 1960s.

This is the second year the pub in Red Street has put on the festival and landlord Tony Jandoo, 47, was pleased to see everyone enjoyed themselves.

Tom Gibson, Jeannette Gibson, Laura-Jo Gaterell and Simon Gibson.

He said: “It’s important to the village. It brings more people into the village and it’s important to keep little country pubs alive.

“We have to do everything we can to maximise our exposure. We did a festival last year and it had great support from the village and this year was even better.”
