An equestrian theatre will be giving horse lovers a sneak peek of what is believed to be the first show of its kind in England.

The performance will see at least 15 horses in a theatrical and informative spectacle.

On May 27, The First Equestrian Theatre Company, based in Meopham, will host an exclusive behind the scenes preview of The Horse of Spain, which is due to premiere in September.

Guests will be able to watch the animals being trained, learn about the history of the show by meeting the riders, and enjoy a series of brief performances to get a taste of the upcoming official production.

The Horse of Spain tells the story of the Spanish horse through theatrical performance and demonstrations.

Founder Peter Maddison-Greenwell is behind the spectacle and hopes to show the audience the beauty of dressage.

He said: "As the name suggests, we are creating the first equestrian theatre of its kind. I believe we are the first one in England.

"The idea of our show is to tell the stories of the Spanish horse that are true, but also fascinating.

"We will start with 15 horses but there may be more.

"The costumes are fantastic, the horses are beautiful and they will do a terrific range of work."

The event will start at 6pm at White Horse Farm, in Harvel, Meopham.
