Pensioners in Gravesend have been warned of fraudsters posing as handymen after the theft of an Age UK van.

The HandyVan vehicle, used by fitters to visit older people and help them with DIY jobs, was stolen from New Ash Green.

Now the charity is warning the elderly to check the ID of any tradesperson who comes calling and, if in doubt, not let them into their home.

The white, Age UK branded van is a Vauxhall Vivaro with registration number EY06 YVM. It was stolen overnight between Tuesday, August 10, and Wednesday, August 11.

Anyone who sees it should contact police.
