A lucky auction bidder has been presented with a stunning sketch of David Bowie.

Mike Trout, from Strood, paid £132 for the artwork, drawn by talented Gravesend artist Jay Pritchard.

All the money was donated to last year’s Messenger Charity of the Year, The Stacey Mowle Appeal, which is set to re-launch as Stacey’s Smiles next month.

(L-R) Sue Terry, who helped Mike win the bid on ebay, Mike Trout, who won the picture, artist Jay Pritchard, Sam & Warren Mowle.

Stacey passed away in March last year, aged just nine, after a battle with cancer and the new charity aims to help others fighting the disease.

Appeal member Steve Nash said: “I grew up with Jay’s sister so I sort of knew Jay and had seen his work previously.

“Warren (Stacey’s father) contacted Jay to ask if he would kindly consider auctioning his brilliant Bowie artwork for our new charity. Jay kindly agreed.”

Jay's stunning Bowie sketch sold for £132.
