Neither side could find a winner as Ebbsfleet were held to a 1-1 draw away to Bromley in an entertaining Kent derby in Blue Square Bet South.

It was the home side who got off the mark first, scoring with just nine minutes on the clock. Ex-Fleet winger Tony Finn's free kick was floated in towards Paul Vines, whose fine header flew past Preston Edwards into the back of the net.

The visitors levelled the game in the 17th minute when Wes Foderingham punched away Ashley Carew's corner, only for Tom Phipp to lob the ball over the Lilywhites' keeper for his second of the season.

The game continued at a frantic pace, with Phipp, Calum Willock, Michael West and Gareth Williams all coming close for Fleet, while Edwards saved from Warren McBean at the other end.

Ebbsfleet dominated possession when the second half kicked off and could have taken the lead in the 55th minute when Williams' shot was spilled by Foderingham, only to be gathered as Willock attempted to fire home.

Salifou Ibrahima raced through on goal for the home side in the 67th minute but Edwards stood tall to thwart the midfielder.

Chances were few and far between as the match drew to a close, although Fleet - undefeated on the raod this season - went close to ending Bromley's unbeaten run through West and Willock in the final minutes.
